Stacking the Shelves #70

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where book enthusiasts can show off their newest additions to their collection!

Nine new books – oopsy! I also placed a big Book Depository order this week, so that will start arriving soon!!! I am having a ban in place for August though – no money will be spent on books AT ALL!

FullSizeRenderBook Club Picks:

  • My Absolute Darling – Gabriel Tallent

This book is critically acclaimed and it is my work book club book. Absolutely can’t wait to get stuck in (have to finish it by Tuesday!), as I have only heard incredible things.

  • Murder on the Orient Express – Agatha Christie

This is not technically a book club book yet, but I’m hoping I can persuade my group to pick it up for next month! I’ve never read an Agatha Christie, and with the movie coming out I really want to read this one ASAP!

Literature to Young Adult:

  • Eliza and her Monsters – Francesca Zappia

I have seen this book appearing again and again on Instagram and Twitter. So when I found an ARC in the office, I had no choice – I NEEDED IT in my life!

  • Beyond a Darkened Shore – Jessica Leake

I love a book with a crow on the cover! Work wants me to read this and give my input; better get onto it soon! My poor TBR is suffering – August will be a BIG month!

  • Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – Gail Honeyman

I have only heard amazing things about this book. Every single review which pops up says it is incredible. Those kinds of reviews mean I can’t let it slide when a copy appears free for the taking!

  • Commonwealth – Ann Patchett

It’s on the Dymocks101 list! When a friend said she was giving a copy away, I jumped at the chance to grab it. It’s shorter than I thought it was, so hopefully I’ll get around to it soon! Only have until March to read the rest of the list and there are over 31 left!

The YA Chronicles Boxes:

I ended up with three YA Chronicles boxes this week – I haven’t been to get them in three months, so I have backlog!

  • Flame in the Mist – Renee Ahdieh
  • Song of the Current – Sarah Tolcser
  • The Waking Land – Callie Bates

These boxes were fantastic! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the iron on Sea Witch patch – now to find a decent piece of clothing to put it on! I used the bath bomb the other day – it smelled amazing and was such a pretty colour! I also adore my Feminist pin and my Rise Up candle. 🙂 And socks! One can never have enough pairs of socks.

What did you add to your shelves this week?
