Soooooo, I went completely and utterly overboard this week…. OOPS! 18 new books! Not entirely sure when I am going to find the time to read them all! What are your best reading tips???

Harry Potter:

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Gryffindor – J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Slytherin – J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Hufflepuff – J. K. Rowling

I may have ordered myself all the paperbacks…. Hehehehe! Unfortunately, my house (Ravenclaw) is the only one that didn’t arrive this week! They’re so pretty, but I am seriously going to need a new bookshelf to fill entirely with Harry Potters.

  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – J. K. Rowling

ANOTHER edition! I love these slipcase editions. The final two should be in my hands sometime in the very, very near future! *party*

OOPS! Too many books again! Eight this week, but I spent no money on these ones! 🙂 So excited to get stuck into a lot of these! But my TBR might explode soon….

Awesome Covers:

  • City of Brass – S. A Chakraborty

A stunning ARC, an amazing story. I need EVERYONE to read this book when it comes out in March!

  • Whimsy & Woe – Rebecca McRitchie, illustrated by Sonia Kretschmar

I loved the ARC, but the finished copy is just AMAZING! Those illustrations; the pretty hardcover. *swoon*

Four new books this week! I borrowed one, and went second-hand book shopping where I found the other three!

Borrowed:

  • The Wrong Girl – Zoe Foster Blake

This is on the Dymocks101 list for this year – I haven’t made much progress at all recently so when I saw this on a friend’s bookshelf, I asked to borrow it! I think it should be fairly quick, but when I might get to it, I’m not entirely sure…

Bought:

  • Death on the Nile – Agatha Christie

I have NEVER read an Agatha Christie. I really wanted Murder on the Orient Express, but couldn’t find it, so this will have to do! 🙂 Read more

Annnnnnndddddd, I more than made up for the fact that I accumulated no new books last week. TEN new books. Four of them are borrowed, I suppose, but six really isn’t that much better than ten….

Work:

  • Moonrise – Sarah Crossan

I love Sarah Crossan’s work, and am really excited about this ARC of her new book! It’s a Bloomsbury title, and it looks really interesting – all about a character and his brother, who is on death row.

  • The Girl, the Dog and the Writer in Rome – Katrina Nannestad

I really loved Olive of Groves and Katrina Nannestad’s new series sounds even better! It’s about a little girl who is sent to live with an eccentric author when her mother falls ill.

  • The Seven – Peter Newman

I absolutely adored The Vagrant by Peter Newman, and The Malice (its sequel) was fantastic as well. I can’t wait to get stuck into the third book, though I will need to check some recaps – it’s been a while!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT I DIDN’T BUY ANY BOOKS IN THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE? WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE ACTUALLY MANAGED TO HAVE AN EMPTY STACKING THE SHELVES AND I’M RATHER PROUD.

In lieu of a haul post, have a photo of the first half of my current TBR – those are just the books I own! I did a preliminary count and I’m up at about 160 – not sure I’ll be able to cross them all off before the end of the year… Any there I have to read RIGHT NOW?

What did you add to your shelves this week? How long do you think I can make this amazing feat last?

Six new books this week!!! My 20th Anniversary Editions of Harry Potter FINALLY FINALLY arrived! They are so beautiful! I am a little bit devastated that the Ravenclaw book (my house) is the least photogenic of the lot though…

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Gryffindor – J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Slytherin – J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Ravenclaw – J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Hufflepuff – J. K. Rowling

This week has been the most amazing haul week EVER, even despite the fact I have now added 13 new books to my TBR! My best friend is in America at the moment, and she attended BEA. Because she ended up with 55 (!!!) new books in total, she sent some home. And some of those have been sent via my house so that I can read them too!!! I also received one book from work, Editing Emma.

Please note that these books have been loaned to me. I will not be entering into ANY discussion about trading them, as they are not my books to trade. Thank you! 🙂

Work:

  • Editing Emma – Chloe Seager

I was told that the voice in this book was very funny, and that I might appreciate how true to life the story feels. I’ve already read it, so look out for my recap tomorrow!

BEA:

  • Magic Misfits – Neil Patrick Harris
